It's legal. You won't get served because the restaurant does not want to be responsible if some clown comes in too fast and hits you. Or you might be a robber who will stick up the place at night when he can't do it right from the front counter.

Not too sure. But since it is for drive through, drivers may assume there shoud be no pedestrains around, and that assumption may cause negligence sometimes.

So it is still safer to avoid walking through a drive-thru. I doubt you should get fined for it though, unless there is a sign-board put up specifically to say that it is illegal. The premises management are likely to issue you with a warning first, if they are reasonable people, even they have put up a sign board to discourage people. First timer may miss the sign board.

Just my thoughts.....

It's not against federal law, but there are a great number of cities who have ordinances against walking through the drive through. You will need to check your local ordinances. (It has to do usually with pedestrians, usually under the influence getting hurt in the drive through lane).

It is usually against the rule of the business, and since you are on a private property, the business owner can ask you to not to enter or leave. Then, you've just committed trespassing.

Nothing illegal about it. Strange, maybe, but I think it would be fun for a group to do, one at a time!
