With its two execution cores, the Intel Core Duo processor is optimized for multi-threaded applications and multitasking. You can simultaneously run multiple demanding applications such as graphics-intensive games or serious number-crunching programs - while downloading music or running virus-scanning security programs in the background. It also demands a better power efficiency so you must have a good power supply. In the other hand Intel Celeron is the cheapest one, so you won't be able to do multitask operation as well as using the Intel Core.

Celeron processors are a low end processor, not having a large L2 cache(high speed processor memory, non-upgradeable) which will kill performance. The Core Solo will probably have a larger L2 cache that will boost performance.

The Core Solo's will also run at higher speeds. The combination of these and other factors will make the Core Solo a better choice for a processor, unless ALL you will do is surf the web and check email, then the Celeron will probably be good enough.

intel celeron m is a cheap mobile processor use in laptaps. intel core solo is a processor that uses a single core. newer processor from amd and intel is now double core to reduce heat and also to make them faster in multi tasking.pls note that celeron is not the same as a pentium although there speed is the same intel erase some instruction inside the cpu so that some application will run slower.
