Going to Ireland for 4 months...just curious if I'll have an advantage or a disadvantage in the attraction department.

Is being an American guy a good thing, a bad thing, or neither in Dublin?

Most Irish girls will think you are just on the pull. So they will ignore you. Irish girls are just like girls anyplace else. Girls want relationships guys want to get laid. Best of luck.

probably a disadvantage!personally I think the perception of you guys isn't very good here!We get all the real media and you all don't come out looking all that intelligent and warm hearted.......more like materialistic and ruthless.Sorry!I'm sure your a nice guy but I don't think talking about how great the US is or the military will get you any brownie points!just be nice and yourself and friendly and all the Irish girls should have no problem with you!

Personally I would perceive an American fella the same way I'd perceive an Irish one. Just be respectful, and don't explain how your great uncles' sisters' mothers' dogs' puppy is from Ireland... :)

To tell you the truth, you will be treated like every other American tourist.Dont get me wrong, they are very respected.l have met a hell of alot of American tourists who proclaime thet they are more lrish than the lrish themselves(l know you go figure), so if you don't take that path you will be fine out. Hope you have a grand time in lreland. take care of yourself.

Like the people in the rest of the world Irish people see Americans as undereducated idiots.

There's no 'typical' really. Some will treat you nice, some will treat you bad. But unfortunately, you have to get out there to find out!
