Own an ESD wrist strap?
Know the rules of static protection for sensitive components?
Do you always use Lifetime warranteed RAM?
Then you might be a 'geek'!
If not, you will just fry it, and blow the whole job! Bye, bye, money!!!
About $59.00 plus shipping, for SDram. But, if it is DDR or SODIMM, double that, and add the $2.00 for the wrist strap.
Since you know nothing, double that, and add a geek fee of $25.00.
for the SECOND install of static sensitive RAM, on a "static workstation"!
I would go for two 512Mb sticks!!! But, I am a geek, and know how to install/use it!

i'm about to resume my each and each and every year Geek service for $100. This includes Webroot safe practices. no longer a foul deal to me. i'm a senior citizen with little pc understanding, and no individual to assist with issues. Had my pc hacked. fixing that develop into coated, besides as music-ups, installations, answering my dumb questions.. The Geeks are continually affected individual and courteous. in case you do not communicate pc,and don't have grandkids, they're a notably sturdy change, for me, besides.

Check prices online. The hardest part is to identify exactly what you need, and there are web sites for that. The labor for actually installing the memory should be cheap, it's very easy to put it in.

Better, find out which memory you need, buy it online and then get it installed from Geek squad - that should be pretty cheap.
Best buy jacks up the memory price in store
