My daughters ex left a message that her "custodial parent support" is not coming this week a whole 50 dollars so he can have spending money for vegas
Do parents who pay child support think like this or is my ex son in law just selfish ?

He's a jerk and she should save that message for if they end up back in court and I'm sure they probably will. Yes, he has every right to be a low life deadbeat the go to Vegas and not give a dange if his kid(s) go without, in his selfish mind. Hey, at least he called. More than I get.

Well this is coming from the other side here..there are many custodial parents who get the "child support" and then never use it on the child..my fiance pays 150.00 a week and his ex uses it to buy cigarettes and lottery tickets..so it's very true that one bad apple can ruin the whole bunch..true, many custodial parents don't do like that, but the ones who do have given the others a bad rap

Her ex is breaking the law. IF I were she, I would tell him that if she doesn't get the money on time, she will petition the court to garnishee his wages...and pay here interest and late fees for the deliquent payments. There is NO excuse for this behavior. Where in the world did she get a divorce that she only got 50.00 per week..IF I were she, I would go back to court...usually child support is 600-1000 per month...I would go after it and get it...period.

Obviously some parents who pay child support think like this or we wouldn't have so many not paying like they should. Having said that, I believe he's really selfish and it shows.

Not all of us do, i pay $150.00 a week, and have been for the last 5 years. i don't even miss the money, i know it's going towards the kids and the X, he's being selfish. i'am sure he's under the age of 30

Unfortunately yes they do. They don't want to be "inconvenienced". It is very selfish on the part of every parent who decides not to pay their support for reasons that benefit only them.
