A visitor placed a glass on my granddaughters dressing table and it acquired a water ring. I don't know how to repair it and this was a gift from her great grandmother with the promise of the rest of the bedroom set if she takes good care of it. She did not know that her friend had done this and there were coasters available to her guest.

before you strip it down, try a little toothpaste, not the gel type. rub it in, wipe it off, see if it starts to take the ring off, if it takes some off, try again. My grandma used to do this. It's worth a shot. Good luck.

Without knowing the wood of the dresser and its finish, you may try this. It sounds really dumb or unbelieveable but it usually works...............Ashes from a cigarette that have sat in the ashtray for 1 day...Seriously...........take a clean cloth and have some ashes on the wood, and rub in a circular motion on the ring
Or you can rub into a section at a time.......Then buff with clean section of your cloth.......let alone for 1 day.....You may want to apply a good dark polish on area when finished. Just make sure you buff it real good...............

the Old English product will probably work too, before purchasing that...try rubbing mayonnaise into the ring. I know it sounds crazy but will work
