All time would be kind of hard to pick. Some of the greats though are The Exorcist, Childs Play, Aliens, The Amittyville Horror. Nothing new is truly scary. They might have the gore factor, but they lack in the fright.

Although it's probably not the scariest horror movie for most, the original Nightmare on Elm Street freaked me out. The first time I saw it, I was very young, and it just came out on VHS. I fell asleep, and I was awaken when Freddie was chasing one of his victims, saying, "Tina. I'm coming to get you, Tina." I jumped off the sofa. I guess it wouldn't have been so scary if my name wasn't Tina.

yeah, the exorcist was pretty creepy. watch idle hands. its a comedy/horror...so funny. look at some reviews.
