I am in my late teens. I usually buy my tops from the juniors dept (size small from places like hollister, forever 21 etc). I usually buy my bottoms from the little girls (size 16) or misses (size 2-4) dept.

I don't like bottoms from the juniors dept because they are too low cut. I don't like tops from the girls section because they look too childish and the ones from the misses section look too old for me.

yes, mostly I buy from juniors but I buy some of my bottoms from the children's section and I have a job where I have to wear a suit so then I buy from the adult section

I feel like it's very tricky, once you get of a certain age, to pull off clothes from the girls section of stores. However, sometimes it's easy if it's a solid shirt or something that you need as a staple in your wardrobe that isn't as "frilly" in the girls section.

I still peruse the juniors department at 24, but it's not cool if it's a 42 yar old woman doing it. I feel like sometimes they go a little overboard with trends, but they're good for nice, trendy AND cheap dresses.

Misses is mostly where I do my shopping now because many of the bigger names I like now - Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Laundry be Shelli Seagal - only target this demographic right now. HOWEVER, if they ever chose to start designing for the young ones, I will be RUNNING over to that department for cheaper finds!

I shop in junior and misses depts. Sometimes its hard - some of the clothes in the juniors section look too young but tend to fit a little better, and the clothes in the misses section can look too matronly.

I have too many curves to really fit in most children's clothes, and I am not big enough to fit in women's tops, but I have somewhat large hips, so I can wear women's pants, but really I would only wear low cut ones, so department brands don't really suit me.

I rarely find what I like in the juniors section in mall and department stores, everything is thin and trashy, and generally only one style. I wear a lot of plain, well cut shirts and jeans from places like Gap and Express instead of thin cotton shirts with idiotic sayings plastered on the front.

I have recently decided to not ever buy or wear clothing with brand names or slogans clearly visible, it turns me off so much.

Yup I can fit into all of those sizes you listed. But instead of a girls 16 try a 0 or a 1 in juniors. My sister is really skinny and thats all that fits her right now.
