If they have no idea what you are talking about or what your disease could be, excuse themselves from the appointment, go research in their office, then come back to diagnose?

my experience is they are more likely to do the research between appointments. this is a good thing. no one can remember everything. but i guess they might duck out of an appointment to go google something - seems like a good idea.

Doctors forget just like everyone else. And yes they use a reference in their office to help with diagnosis of a patient.

yes they may have to do some research but they may do it before the appointment cause usually when you make the app. they ask what u r coming in for

I have had doctors, pull out books to show me diagrams, could be that they really wanted to show it to me or wanted to see something themselves.
Either way, I realize a doctor can't know everything, I feel better knowing that he realizes it too.

They are human and always learning. Just hope they come back with the correct diagnosis..
