Actually, it's not something I think about often unless there is a news event, and I can watch reactions.
From the news reporting, I get the impression that Brits are pretty much the same as Americans. Maybe they don't seem to get as vocally ticked off about things as we do, and they seem to move on a bit faster after a crisis.
Politically, you guys are just as screwed up as we are.
Economically, ditto.
Brits do seem to have a social advantage in some issues, where unity is a key...for example, with the moral issues of biomedical progress, like stem cell research. Maybe you don't have as much religious indignation preventing or limiting discovery.
Hmm. Good question.

I respect your attempt at democracy but I feel your country has some of the same arrogant(claiming humbleness), godless(claiming love of christ) politicians and greedy people that we have. I think the poison that you have is the poison that we have.
It's almost like the idea of a democratic republic is failing.
But you had a kick-*** navy, it's still pretty awesome. We all could have avoided this middle-east stuff had the British listened to their better judgement instead of the Zionist lobbyist so many years ago.
After being slavers' you tried to stop slavery...that's good. You are the Western Roman Empire and we are your Eastern Roman Empire. You have the history and we have the future.
I like the British people, you held off Hitler......for that alone we should always like you.
Oh yeah....Your responsible for so much American music it's insane! You had Issac Newton, and Michael Faraday, right?
Yeah you rock!

I have always felt there was a fairly strong bond existing between Britain and the U.S., and really liked the british, but I must be honest. Lately I've been hearing a lot of criticism of Americans that I don't feel is warranted. I've heard every insult you can imagine including that we are arrogant, cowardly, over-fed, bullies who did absolutely nothing in WWII while the brits defeated the nazis single handedly. Frankly I resent it, and if that is truly the opinion of the british people I want nothing more to do with them. As much as I love my country and do feel it is the best country in the world, I would never lord it over anyone else and wouldn't begrudge the brits of the same feeling for their own country.

We owe a debt that can never be paid to the British I assume that includes the Scots. The idea's of John Locke and others for the basis for our government, and created the foundation for our independence.
Plus I admire the British economy of language. Tony Blair can say more with fewer words than anyone else I've heard speak.

I think 'you lot' make some dam good beer. Unfortunately my 'rellies' over there think alot of young people are drinking American crap beer. Dont fall for the advertising campaigns that our big breweries have launched in your country. Someone has to hold out hope for traditional beers and ales!
PS: The other people are right about the {colonists} thing, sorry...

Brits are great! They can be a bit quick tempered at the pub, but buy 'em a pint and it's all good. I don't like the television tax! I did think that the best looking birds were not allowed outside the M25, LOL.

I LOVE the British!!!
I've been to England twice, and I would love to move there except it's so expensive to live and the weather is awful. They are the nicest people I've ever been around--so friendly. I also love it that they tend to be liberals!
