Where do you go to search for a good family doctor? Unfortunately, all or our family and friend's doctors are not accepting new patients. Where do I start?

Did you try talking to your doctor that retired. Perhaps he can recommend someone with similar practices. I am from the Toledo area, but our family doctor practices in Grand Rapids (Dr. Dood). If you are not familiar with Grand Rapids it is right off State route 24 (Anthony Wayne Trail) between Waterville and Napoleon. It is a ways from Toledo. We travel half an hour to get there, but we like our doctor. You may try talking to people you work with. This way you will be able to get doctors that are covered by your insurance plan.
I personally would only go to a doctor highly recommended by a person. Luckily my mom is a nurse (end of life care) and she hears about most local doctors, so it made it easier to choice a doctor. GOOD LUCK!

it is hard to find good drs these days because the new once just dont care or they have this knowledge that if you keep them coming back you will get more money from them, you have to wait for someone to die to get an opening in to see one of the older drs and by then they are ready to retire

Hi Barb I sure know what you mean...Plz call the "American medical society" or the "Ohio medical Society" and tell them the situation what you need and ask for a refferal. :) It helps.
