This is something Fantasy owners need to be aware of before Draft Day (or if Smith is already on your team). While the injury doesn't appear to be major, it could become major, or it could be a lingering issue that limits Smith's production for the course of the season. The best way to find out how it will affect him is to see him practice and play. Wait and see how the next few days go before knocking Smith down a few notches on rank lists.

Now a guy is offering Reggie Wayne and Nate Burleson

for my Steve Smith?

Well, I don't know what injury you're talking about. Is it a hammy, or a sprained ankle, or groin? Some injuries are more notorious for lingering than others.

If you've got Smith, that means you had to go fairly high to get him, also meaning you may be thin at WR.

So, since I don't know the injury, pay attention to my IF'S:

1) If you are paper thin at WR beyond Smith, and

2) If Smith's injury is the type that he'll be bothered by it all season, and

3) If Burleson is looking good throughout preseason

Then, yeah, I'd think about it. I'd tell the guy to give you through preseason to think about it, and if he pressures you, then say the deal's off, and not to waste any more of your time. Don't let him bully you into this trade, you have the Ace of Spades here.

Keep steve smith. He is a stud, you would only get two #2 WRs. Smith will be fine. There are six weeks until the season starts.

I hope you have good backups. Muhsin Muhammad, Chicago or TJ Houshmandzadeh, Cinncinati
