My friend told me that. He said he's had sex with his girlfriend about 6 times. I was jealous after that. ;)

And by the way, 16 years old is ok, but 17 and under is what I consider too young most of the time.

Yeah! I read in a newspaper that 54% (or something like that) have already had sex by the time their out of high school. One-third have even had sex BEFORE high school. Then you have to ask yourself-"How many of these kids were smart enough to protect?" Not many is my guess. You also have to wonder how many had sex with someone older than them? I know it happens at my school-out of a total of 64 students, 12 were pregnant before the end of the year.

First you have to define what age is "too young" ...
Then you have to realize that when people do these surveys:
A- boys tend to lie to make themselves feel cool
B- even oral is considered "sex" in these surveys
... so those things tend to tip the scales quite a bit.
By my own judgement, I didn't have REAL sex till I was in college... but I had a lot of oral when I was in highschool... So in my mind I wouldn't have fallen under that 54%... but according to some gov. official I do...
Don'T listen to statistics... And don't be jealous of your friend (who is likely lying anyway). Sex really isn't all that its cracked up to be. It SERIOUSLY complicates things in a relationship and in life. Wait till you feel you are truly ready to deal with any consequences that could arise from it... and wait till you're with someone who will help you make good memories out of it.

That would depend on how young is too young. I think we'll all agree that 12 is too young and 18 is old enough but what about 16? 15? What did the source you're using say is "too young"?

no it's true that 90% of young kids have sex,and most likely there is not one thing anyone can do about it cause these kids are not going to listen and half of the ones that do,still give in because of peer pressure and the fact of depression and lack of self respect.

Yep. My high school did a survey. 50% of the school has had sex, and something like 30% has had unprotected sex. And our school was a good school. Not much fighting, bullying. Sure, we didn't meet state standards, but I never had any problems.

You shouldn't have sex unless you're able to handle the possible consequences... I think some kids are too embarassed to go buy condoms so they simply don't...they think "this won't happen to me"...right.....I think most have sex too young.
