My carpets always seem to feel sticky especially in humid weather. I have tried shampooing them, doing it with just warm water. Someone also told me to try baby powder and the vacuum it up. Any other ideas?????

Get a dehumidifer. Even vacuuming will be easier. It sounds like you have to much moisture in the air.

Use a hot water extractor more commonly known as a steam cleaner and just put hot water with a bit of vinegar in it. The sticky stuff is the shampoo that you used the last time and it is very hard to get out. After you shampoo a carpet, you will notice they get dirty faster, that is because the dirt is now sticking to the shampoo. When you clean your carpets, it's better to use powdered laundry soap instead of an oil based shampoo.

You can either use a carpet powder which you spray on and leave for a few minutes, then hoover. If it's very sticky perhaps it needs a real good steam cleaning. Get the professionals in to do it. If neither works then I suggest it may be time for a new carpet perhaps?

I am not sure what you mean by "sticky".... maybe some kind of sugary drink was spilled. If thats the case, dehumifier next to the stinky area for 24 hrs then add fresh club soda and let it soak 20 mins or more. Pat it til dry. Let me know how it turned out.

Tear it up and throw that carpet out. Need to replace it with a new carpet. Don't forget to throw out the padding too.

If cleaning does not do the trick, remove the carpet and replace with a new one
