What bleach actually does is alter the way the light is reflected from the fabric, it is a 'stain' blocking the color.

Found It!
1. Wear rubber or latex gloves. Blot the excess bleach with a white absorbent cloth or paper towel.
2. Blot-rinse with water.
3. Gently blot detergent solution of 1/4 tsp. mild dishwashing liquid and 1 cup (8 fl oz/250 ml) warm water onto the stain, using a clean cloth or paper towel. Work from the stain's outside edge to the center.
4. Let the detergent sit for at least 5 minutes.
5. Repeat blotting with a clean white cloth until no more of the bleach transfers to the cloth and the bleach smell is nearly gone.

Everyone is correct in the fact that the color from you favorite shorts is now removed by the bleach. You have several choices at hand in rescuing them. 1: Using a dye remover and then redying which is really time consuming and probably wont put them back to your favorite shade. 2: Depending on where the spot is take your shorts to a local sewing/embroidery shop, they seem to be everywhere these days. 3: My all time favorite is to twist them up with string or rubber bands or you could just lay them down flat, then use a diluted mixture of bleach and water, I believe the mixture is 50/50. Wait until it reaches the shade you want. Then rinse in soap and water and Voila!!! No one else has the same pair of shorts you have. If I'm not mistaken the 70's look is coming back so you would certainly be in style.

Unfortunately, bleach isn't a stain, which would mean color added on top of the original color - bleach actually takes OUT the color. Either you have a new pair of lounging-around-home shorts, or you could try dying them a darker color than the original - might work, very possibly won't since the dye would probably take differently in the area that's still teal than in the area where the bleach took out the teal.

Bleach stains cannot be "removed". The only hope is to find some fabric dye that is the same color as the shorts, and dye them according to the directions on the package. Good Luck!!

Sorry girl, but I dont think there is any way to get rid of bleach stains. Bleach eats the dye away so no matter what you wash it with or treat it with the color is gone forever. Better go get another pair.

Bleach doesn't stain. You can't remove the damage done by bleach. The bleach has removed the color from your shorts. The only solution to your problem is to use Rit Color Remover to completely remove the color from your shorts. Then use the desired shade of Rit dye to restore the color to your shorts.

No, you can't "remove" bleach stains. They are not stains. The bleach has removed the colour of your shorts. The only way to get it back is to dye the shorts to the original colour, but even this is not guaranteed. You'll probably have to replace the shorts. Sucks, I know!

Bleach stains cannot be removed, as bleach actually removes the color pigments. If you love your shorts that much, try to dye them and see what happens.

Bleach spots are not stains. The colour has been removed from your shorts. I dont think you can restore the colour . I may be wrong but, I don't think so.Even if you redye them the spots will be lighter.
