How do you let go of the "would have, should have's" in your life?

Stop thinking about it and move on. The would haves and should haves wont bring you to your goals. They are your past. Dont allow it to affect your future any longer. One should stop regretting and concentrate on what is more important in life at the moment and prevent from making mistakes that would bring you to asking yourself about the would haves and should haves again.

It is not the end of the world though. We still have our lives. That is always the most important. Take a look at the Lebanese children. They are suffering. When i look at them, i realised how lucky i am and why should i not regret about my past because i still have my future.. my life. For these poor kids, living sometimes is not even an option.

Regret just hangs around doesn't it? My way is to forgive myself and remind myself that I am not perfect and neither is anyone else.
Sometimes you can make amends in small ways. But you have to let it go. Otherwise it will make you miserable for the rest of your days. Move on....close the door to the past and stuff towels under the door.
If you are a Christian, you could turn it over to God and he would forgive you.
IIf you are not a Christian, you just have to forgive yourself. Like ist yourself in a chair and put a pillow on the floor that is you and just tell yourself that you made a mistake, you probably learned something from it, and hug yourself.
The longer you live the more you might have some regrets, but survival means moving on with a positive spirit in your heart.
Good Luck!

Personally, my religion is the only reason I can let go of regret because it says that whatever happens, happens for a reason and whatever the result, it's the best outcome for me, even though I might not realize it right now. I'm like a mouse in a maze, unable to see the right path, and God is the one watching it all from above and helping me make the right choices.

It's hard to get rid of regret...But you can always manipulate with it and make it seem like it wasn't your fault and make yourself believe that. That's a good way, but the truth or the real story shouldn't be twisted.

Regret.........mm tough but, we all make mistakes, things happen and really that is reality, No one can control what happens, The one way I have found to help with regrets is to pray !

Don't hold on to the past u will only be reliving the past and nobody gets anywhere living that way.

Keep on truckin'. There are just some things no one can do anything about once they've passed. Proceed with your life normally & feelings will fade & turn into life experiences and lessons. Then 20 years later write about it and see how much you've learned since then.

There is no real answer to your question. It all depends on if you want to let go.
The only way to do that is to realize that there is nothing you could have done to make whatever situation better.
If you keep reeling over it you will only make your self not only emotionally sick but physically as well.
I'm not a church going person, but if you pray, you might feel a little bit better.

Don't live with regret. Forget about it. It happened in the past. All that really matters is whats happening now.

by dealing with the past and living in the present.

deal with it as good as you can and then throw it into the back of your memory where you will never think about it. and then just try and be happy now. make the best of what youve got because youve got the same heart as everyone else and so you dont have anything more or anything less than anyone else. so deal with it and live in the present.
