what do you call a person whose name you have forgotten?

do you say hey girl? or whats up dude? or do you ask them their name again after already having asked them twice before? or do you ask somebody else to ask them their name?

I usually ask the name again. Since I became a mother it seems my mind has taken a short trip and I don't remember names like I used to, so I ask and say that the day I get enough sleep, I'll remember without having to ask again. They usually laugh.

If I think that I'll remember the name after a few moments or so, I'll say something like "Hey! How are you, haven't seen you since the last time. You're looking good" and so on.

If I don't think I'll remember the name, I'll apologize for being such a complete dingbat, say something about a prior meeting we had, and then ask their name. Something like, "I'm sorry I'm such a dingbat, but I've completely forgotten your name. You'd think I'd remember after we went to the carnival and ate too many funnel cakes."

I've never had anyone offended by it.

I used to do this all the time when I was at a club and I would be drunk and always forget the chicks name.

I am not shy, I will ask a person's name over and over until they get totally tired of my asking and tattoo it onto their forehead.

don't call them any ting. just say like " hi, how u doing". if you need to get their attention then just say "hey" in a friendly manner
