They are actually grey socks and it stems from a dare to wear bright pink socks on one show and if he did,this guy would'nt push his face into a cake. Go to EW.com and read all about it!

He could be allergic to the dye used in socks, or maybe all his dark socks are dirty.

i believe he said years ago that he was alergic to the dye in colored socks...And he never mentioned it again
