Well if you mean EARLY childhood, I'd go with Romper Room. I don't remember anything that happened on the actual show, I just remember being sad when she got out the Magic Mirror because it meant the show was almost over.
Of course there was Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood; my favorite part was the trolley to the Land of Make-Believe. Then I got into "You Can't Do That on Television" once I was in grade school. The memory is much better than the actual show (saw it years later and thought "wow, I actually used to like this show.") Around the same time I got into Danger Mouse.
Then, I when I was a teenager it was all Star Trek for me. But I'm clean 8 years now. Though I did also watch the original Dragnet with Jack Webb as Joe Friday. He was just priceless with his facial expressions that never changed.
Now I just watch 24. I'm in my depressed time of year when it isn't on.

When I was little little, I loved to watch Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room. There was Mr. Moose and the rabbit and the ping pong balls, Mr. Green Jeans, and Dancing Bear, and Grandfather Clock. And don't forget the Tom Terrific cartoons. Tom wore a funnel on his head and could change shapes. (What was his dog's name?) And Felix the Cat. But when I older, I really liked Lost in Space. This was pre-Star Trek. To me, Lost in Space was much more believable TV than Star Trek ever was. Come to think of it, I never knew if the Robinson Family ever made it back to earth. I don't know if there ever was a final show to the series of not. Hey, maybe they're still floating around in outer space. Does anybody know? It's been 40 years!! You would think the Hubble telescope would have found them by now.

During the early 70's, there was a show on channel 17 in Philadelphia called "Dr. Shock" and it would play during the breaks of old science fiction movies. I think it was on Saturday nights. The whole family would watch.

The Guiding Light, Days of Our Lives and Another World. I was surrounded by soap opera lovers everywhere I went.
I also loved Scooby Doo. Everyday after school.

I loved Howdy Doody. I got mocked out by the kids in the neighborhood because he wasn't considered cool. But I took the heat. Guess you know how old I am. I also liked Captain Kangaroo.
