There was a classified ad in the newspaper having to with an orthodontist but it only has a P.O. box and doesn't say the name or location of the business. My car is broken down right now so I will have to take the bus and I don't want to apply somewhere that's going to take my 2 or more hours to get there.

The company that posted the ad did not want to list the name or location of the business, maybe they don't want their current employees to know they are hiring.

You will probably have to write them to find out where they are. Stamps are a bargain, anywhere in the country for one low price, send them off a letter. I would not necessarily mention that your car is broken down, but it would not be unusual to ask where the work location is.

Most likely, they don't want people to know where they are, or they would have a bunch of walk-ins. The only other way to find out is to go ahead and submit a resume. Would you work there if you had the job and it took you a two hour commute? And maybe it is right down the street. I say send in your resume, if you are contacted with an interview offer, then you can get the address. If it turns out they are far away, you always can call and cancel your interview, saying you accepted a job closer to home. People understand that, and would appreciate your honesty.

Didn't they post a phone number on there? You can call them, for directions. If they didn't, it doesnt sound like they are running a good business.
