try some of the products available for removing pet odors. You can also make a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water and spray the area, this might help.

Unfortunately cat urine is one of the hardest to get rid of, yeah you can go to a pet store and find all types of urine removers and you'll also hear about home remedies, but the problem is most of that stuff doesn't really work so you have to watch what you buy from the pet store, look at the ingredients on the bottle if it says that it mostly contains water it ain't going to do you no good, you want to find one that has all or mostly all enzymes in it, the water just dilutes it to the point that you are just wasting money on that junk. while it might lessen the smell it will not get rid of it completely, (sorry to say) the only other option is to get rid of the carpet, even if you do and you scrub the floor underneath and put down new carpet the cat will be able to smell that and do it again.(learned from past experience) if you think it's just that one spot heres a little trick to find all the others, do this at night with no lights on, use a black light and sweep it across the floor about 2 to 3 inches off the carpet, you will probably not like what you see because it will show all the stains. sprinkle baking soda all over the carpet not in just one spot, what it will do is help draw the smell up and capture it, that's why it is used in refrigerators let it sit for a couple hours then vacuum it up. i hope this will help you.

I had this problem with a female stray we had brought in a few years back. I used some products from the pet store that claim to remove the odor completely but she kept peeing in the same spot. I asked our vet and he said you will never completely 100% remove the odor. YOU may not be able to smell it but the pet can. Cat urine turns into crystals that become ammonia based and even if you clean the carpet, the crystals form on your padding and the floor under it. (many people have had to completely change their carpet). The vet said that the commercial products (Smell B Gone) and such, vinegar, and baking soda just cover up the scent from us but doesn't get rid of the crystals. And NEVER use water and detergent, the water just spreads the pee. HTH

I got this stuff from a guy who removes cat pee for a living. I believe it was called Urine Be Gone but I can't remember. He can find urine anywhere with this stick that stabs at the carpet and detects moisture from cat pee which stays like forever. Look in the online yellow pages for someone in your area who does this and see how much it is or if they will sell you the stuff to do it yourself.

Sometimes the cure is worse than the problem or so it seems. Try wetting the area with ammonia. That smell is bad, I know. But it will go away, along with the cat urine smell.

oh, man, we've been fighting the odor in our hallway for a year. While we were on vacation, the person "watching" our cats (cough cough) closed the door to their litter box and went home. They chose the end of the hallway upstairs, the farthese-away from everything else in the house spot, and used it for a week. We tried every concoction in the pet store, white vinegar seems to work the best but you've gotta soak it good, all the way into the padding, and let it dry. A dehumidifier might help along the drying process, but ours, unfortunately, is going to have to be replaced. Good luck to you!

febreeze- and have you got a litter box? I recommend using a litter box- use either fresh step or scoop away (yes they cost more but they are worth it). And clean it every other day at least. As for the smell- try shampooing it up- and use an odor neutralizor. Go to your local pet smart and im sure they can recommend some.
