...there's a task to be done, but you just don't want to do it?
Do you delay it or just do it do get it out of your mind?
Any personal method to make something boring and tedious get by quicker?

When something is to be done, I gotta do it. If I don't, I end up never getting it done. Like homework for example, lol.
I guess to make something more interesting, you just gotta experiment. 'Find techniques like imagining you gotta get the task done to get something you want-like meeting an actor you like or something. For me, I try to get my homework done in my free time at school. When school was still in session, I'd take out my homework when I was an aide for one of my teachers. I basically just sat there, so getting some h.w. done was good.
I often had to push myself to get the job done by making it fun, which was hard. Since my h.w was mostly math and I had word problems, I'd take out the name "Suzie" or w/e the name was and replace it with my friend's name or a celeb. I liked to make it sound a bit more fun.

I guess you find out a way to get boring things done by trying out different ways, until you find one that actually pushes you to do what needs to be done.

I think I know what you're talking about. It's that nagging feeling at he back of your head, the reluctance to do a task that you know has to be done.
There are a number of ways I try to get past it:
Just do it, force yourself, that lazy part of yourself that hates work (everyone has it), tell it that you won't die or go blind if you do the task before you enjoy that heath ledger movie.
Or admit what you're feeling to yourself (never try to ignore your feelings, trust me), say aloud, "I'm feeling lazy, I want to put off doing this task until a later time because blah blah and I know i shouldn't because blah blah", you'd be surprised at the effect this can have.
Make a firm promise to yourself that you will never put anything off that you have to do, when you can do it now, because it is poor character to do so and keep that promise. This is my latest strategy and it works well, especially for household chores.
Of course there are things, like studying, that you just will never really like doing unless it's a field you are really interested in and love, that's the only way to get past that one, and then it's even hard....
If all this fails and you're just a Psychological wuss, then pay people to do your tasks, or better, fool them into doing them...or something, I mean you must have SOME useful skill, right?

If a task can be broken down, so you work on something for 10 mins every day for a week, then you don't notice it.

depends on the task. Sometimes i like to get rid of it ASAP and other times I just push it as long as i can.

try setting a time limit for yourself. That way you have to hurry and get it done fast, and it's like a dumb little game. Definatly listen to some good tunes while you work!

Whenever possible, I try to get somebody to work on the project with me. That way, it gets done faster, and I stick with it. Wouldn't want somebody else to see how lazy I am.

I just try to kick it out. To make it less unbearable, I pop in a DVD that I've seen a bazillion times to listen to while I work.

If you have no involvement or interest you will not take up the task.If you are self employed,no problem. But if you are employed and doing job for somebody, the problem will be solved automatically, you will be kicked out!
