yea cause I am african american and live in the south I have to deal with it all the time. But it does not bother me much. It is a way of life for some people and some are just ignorant and uneducated and thats all they ever will be. I dont let it stop me from being me nor do I let it stop me from being proud of who i am and where I came from.

i had hoped this would never happen, but my 16 year old daughter has--she recently applied 4 a job in our local mall and was told by the manager that she'd be put on the schedule later in the week. my daughter received no call back so she called and was told by the manager "I think I'll pass", with no other explanation. Later, my daughter said she was told by someone else that she should have known she wouldn't get hired because there were only hispanics employed there as was the manager

Yes, and I am white. At a store I once worked for, $100 was missing from the register one day. This black employee tried to make it look like I did it, and they told me they were going to call the cops and have me arrested if I did not immediately give the money back. Since I did not take the money, I refused to give them any. I then pointed out holes in the story of the black man, and then when they questioned him again, and caught him in a lie, he admitted to taking the money. Did they call the cops? Nope. They said they had "special handling policies" when it came to black employees. He was allowed to resign (so it would not be in his file that he was even fired for stealing) and they said he could bring in the money when he got paid. (He never did.)

Now, if we are all supposed to get EQUAL treatment, why was he treated so special?

One time that comes to mind is when I walked into a Shuck's Autoparts store to buy an oil filter for my car. I asked the sales guy a very legit question and he actually laughed at me. THEN, he told me that next time, I should "let my boyfriend take care of these things, sweetheart". So now I go to Napa. Ha.

Yes I have, and even when I've told people that they're actions were offensive, that didn't change anything. It truly is disgusting how discriminating some people can be.

Yes indeed! I'm a caucassian (white), multi-generational, male Canadian. Here, you only count if you're a recent immigrant from Africa, Asia or the Carribean.
