They are much the same, however they are competitors. Every one of these soldiers within there Organizations wants to have a Yankee scalp. It makes them a living hero. Suicide bombers on the other hand are dead hero's. Also some of these groups are created by governments and some of them are start up organization that got lucky on the first bomb and scored.
As to them being ideological, they are will and ready to die for their cause. That is not the way Americans or Westerner's look at things.
We westerners do want to die if we can avoid it.
In fact, the strongest pro war types are usually non-combatants and would not volunteer to die like the kids that are in the military. The neocon's are not on the front lines now or ever in the future.
The neocon's do not have to join the military because there is no other recourse to go to school. The neocon's were raised to avoid war.
Now, I have to admit that some of them served in the military, but not many, and not now.

They are similar in that they are both dedicated to the destruction of Israel and they are both rooted in a militant Islam that seems to demand Islamic states but also resisting Jews and Judaism who occupy a "foreign" land.
Hamas was borne of Palestinian resistance to Israeli occupation, and Hezbollah was borne of Iran's Islamic Revolution of the late '70's and is still financed today by Syria and Iran (Iran is also one of Hamas' principal benefactors.
Beyond their stated mission to destroy Israel, it is difficult to pin down a legitimate ideology beyond terror and murder even as they claim their legitimacy through Islam (they fail on many counts to fully embrace the true nature of Islam).
Whether they are allied in a formal sense remains to be seen. Speculation is that Hezbollah seized an opportunity to move against Israel while Israel was seemingly distracted in Gaza. No one has made any sort of claim that there was a collaborative effort.

The Palestinians elect HAMAS. Lebanon includes Hezbollah in their parliament -- again, the Lebanese have elected terrorists. These groups live, indeed thrive, among the population of 'innocent civilians' – launching rockets, and probably soon missiles.
We have a coalition of mobs that embrace hatred (fear) of those freedoms, and prefer dictatorships and universal force of might over mind. In a word, they're both worshiping mystic collectivism.

Hamas and Hezbollah are similar and I believe they are allies with each other. Except Iran and Syria supports Hezbollah
with missles and other arms.Hamas are a smaller terrorist organization, but I think they are financed by Iran as well.

They are competing organizations. But since they share the goal of destoying Israel, that's enough to keep them on the same front for now.

HAM-AZS are Palestinians. HezBULLie are Lebanese.
HAM-AZS, as their name implies, are the southern end of a northbound pig.
HezBULLie, as their name implies, is the party of cowards who run to Mommy when someone hits them back.
