I Love this question! I wonder the same thing. Also, why do we feel the need to be involved in everyones conflicts? Are we the World Police? The Middle East is one thing because of the Oil, but Bosnia? Somalia? If someone doesn't agree with the war in the The Middle East, tell me, why don't we drill more of our own Oil? Can't have it both ways!

I wonder why, as well ...

However, I think it's a bigger problem than just "feeding" people here. We need to figure out WHY people are still going hungry in a country where 10 year old kids wear $100 sneakers to school. If a cause arises and it's cool or popular, donations pour in like water but people forget about the daily needs of our brothers and sisters. True enough, we have programs galore ... other countries do not ... wish we could help everyone.

That is a Question that needs to be smacked in our Goverments faces. With all the money this Country has and all the food it wastes we should not have any Hungry people in the US. When it comes to who's starving should get food first It should not be a question. Feed them all no one is more important than the other. It does not matter where they are in the world just feed them they are Hungry.

So, should we not be sending money to help with AIDs in Africa?

If someone is starving in this country, they have not tapped into the social safety net. There are free food programs all over the place. There are all sorts of things you can do to get food, find employment and housing.

If a person, other than a young child, is starving in this country it is by choice. We have plenty of assistance programs. Some people go from one shelter to another, one church to another, one food bank to another. It's a way of life.

People living in other countries are not as lucky. In many cases the food simply isn't available, in others it is because of corrupt govt.

Good question but you owe your churches, goodwill organizations and politicians for that one. They set aside money for national disasters outside of the country in every budget so when something comes up they are prepared. Too bad they do not make more of an effort to wipe out starvation in devastated areas like New Orleans after the natural disaster there. I think also in the USA churches more or less attempt to cover problems here at home.

I don't know. We should take care of our own first. The only thing we should ever send starving people in other countries is condoms.

We spend billions in this u . s .. Why did no longer Louisiana restore their leeves, that they had time-honored for some years that New Orleans became decrease than sea point. what number days be conscious did the individuals of recent Orleans have till now the typhoon hit, why did no longer they take action. while the typhoon hit, most of the police looted or left accountability and basically enable criminals run amuck. I lived in Louisian for 4 years and this is the main ignorant, backward, and corrupt place I truly have ever been. Giving money to Louisiana is like pouring water down the drain-that's an entire waste!

Because we have people starving everywhere, and we're doing what can be done to feed as many as possible. Preference isn't given to (what I assume you mean to be) Americans simply for being American.

Whether or not enough is being done is an entirely different debate, but there really isn't a reason for national bias.
