As needed because bleaching does weaken the fibers of the fabric, and the socks especially wear out really fast and get holes easily.

I use the bleach for colors with every wash of whites.
But if the load of laundry is full of muddy soccer socks or hunting clothes or fishing shirts then I use real bleach...as needed.

Everytime that they are washed. Dingy residue will build up in the fabric if not removed....

WHEN I NEED TO WHITEN THEM UP I DON'T USE BLEACH, I USE NON CHLORINE CLOROX 2 FOR COLORS. IT'S A LOT SAFER AS I HAVE DESTROYED MORE CLOTHES WITH CLOROX THAN I CARE TO COUNT! WORKS FINE. I USE IT WHEN I THINK THEY NEED IT.
