a product calle KwikStop will cause it to stop bleeding. all professional bird breeders have it on hand for when we trim nails. sometimes you can trim too much off and it will start bleeding. If you don't have any you need to hold it and put pressure on it until it stops.

Stiptic Powder or in a pinch.. flour as an absolute LAST measure. Try looking in the Medicine Cabinet for the styptic power. Do you and your Birdie a favor and buy it before you need it.
And DON'T put alcohol on it! what a crack pot saying put alcohol and a band aid! He was just trying to get points. Sheesh!
