No, it's because some of the people who ask or answer the questions are immature! The majority of people want to get serious answers to their questions and many of the answers are profane, inappropriate, etc. Then there are those who ask stupid, profane, or inappropriate questions and waste the time of the people who are on here to try to help people. These people need to find things to do with their time if they're so bored that they just want to come on Answers and waste people's time. A lot of people just "answer" questions with stupid responses or letters or numbers just to get the two points. But does anyone actually know what the points go towards, other than "bragging rights"??

There is a fine line between reporting people who deserve to be reported and just doing it because your a tattletale - no one likes a tattletale - personally neither do i - I only remember reporting someone 'once' and that was because a kid on here asked what sex was - in all innocence - and he directed her straight to a full-blown porn site - God knows what he did to her fragile little mind - so you see some people need to be reported for the good of the users on this site - especially the kids - ofcourse it didn't do much good, because the damage had been done - but lets hope he doesn't do it again.

They do this either because they have a good reason (which in most cases, I'm sure they don't) or they do this because they just are immature babies that still act like 5 year olds and tell whenever something little just doesn't seem right to them.

I will report things that are egregious violations of the community guidelines: racism, hate speech, commercial solicitations, obscenities. I will also report questions posted in the wrong language because they obviously are posted on the wrong section of Answers and are not likely to get responses. I feel it is our responsibility to report things that don't belong here because it helps keep this forum true to its purpose. That said, I do not report frequently. I spend most of my time here answering questions. I only report things that hit me as being really out of place and inappropriate. Unfortunately, there are some users who misuse the report abuse privilege in order to pursue petty feuds or punish people whose viewpoints they disagree with. That's offensive.

Some maybe but others are well deserved because they cross the line. I have seen some really bad questions on here that are inappropriate for anything. And sometimes even hurtful... And discriminating... This should be used for entertainment and also in a helpful way for those topics that are more serious..

No its because some people cannot control themselves and since we have to look at garbage elsewhere on the net we have a chance not to have to see it here. Tell me, why do those who know they'll likely get reported if they post obscene questions do so anyways then whine when it happens?

I'd report a racist question or answer as it's illegal. Having the balls to stand up for whats right is not immature. Being scared to stand up to people, that is immature.

Because this is OUR place. We want it to be comfortable. We want to feel like we're among friends. When pencil necked little punks stop by, we make sure that they're run out of town quickly.

because it could have been written in such a manner that it was inappropriate.like swearing,racist coments.ive reported on here because a 13 yr old was looking for sex now to me that was not right,where where the parents surely the child should be supervised.think that answers your question
