If the middle class is dying, it's their own fault. This nation was the healthiest nation in the world at one time because we had "American Ingenuity" and bold, innovative, intelligent new ideas. And, most of those great ideas hailed from the middle class. The American middle class is in trouble today because, awhile back when the rest of the world got realistic and hopeful about meeting the math and science challenges of the future, we got more interested in having school prayer and "Christian Family Values" taught in our public schools and stopped preparing rationally and hopefully for the future. We dropped innovative, logical conceptual problem-solving skills and we descended into backward, concrete-thinking illiteracy. We've let math and science slip through our fingers for two generations now. That's a lot of unprepared middle class people who went to the affected, "dumbed-down" public school system. In competitions for jobs with people from other nations, most Americans now can't even pass the employment test for bathroom attendant. In the near future, under-educated Americans will be doing most of the world's hazardous, menial, unpleasant jobs. You can't be "white collar" if you can't do Algebra. You will not be marketable unless you can actually solve a problem and form an "If -Then" statement. And, you don't get to advance on your prayers, but, rather on your bold, new ideas. And remember, the MAJORITY of jobs in our own country will be with companies owned by foreign interests. It's already rapidly turning in that direction.

Hard working liberal Democrats have kept this country afloat for many, many decades. Republican owned corporations look to other countries for cheap labor, with the idea of exploitation. That is what it means to be a Republican: rip workers off. When this happens, middle class people get laid off, while at the same time, Bush supports tax relief, and cuts for the wealthy. He also supports tax cuts for corporations, while this nation is suffering the greatest budget deficit in it's history. The hard working liberal Democratic, middle class workforce must bear that burden. They are under paid, and over taxed, so that theoretically, they lose their hold on the middle class, and become poor. Rich conservative Republicans have no idea what it means to actually have to work, in order to make a living.

Yup, but the fools support them anyway. I'm glad you noticed. I predicted that when Bush stole the first election.
All totalitarian governments first get rid of the middle-class, control all media, then change the laws and create crises that keep them in power.
I think that's Bush's handlers goal. You may wish to review 'The Rise and Fall of the Third
Reich' it details some the things Bush has done and said.

Republicans? No, it is more likely that liberals, with their restrictions on free trade and their handicapping of businesses large and small are the reason for the shrinking middle class.

No, it is the liberal democrats and their rich leaders who are squeezing the middle class until it bleeds to pay for those in the lower classes who refuse to do anything but collect my tax dollars.
