Many convenience food stores, hardware stores, Lowe's, Home Depot, WalMart, and other retailers offer propane for sale. These require that you trade in your empty tank for a full one.
To have your own tank refilled, you will need to take it to a propane refill center. Propane companies and many farm supply store will refil your tank without trading it in for another tank. Best bet is to look in the Yellow pages for locations.

Ususally you would go to the gas station and switch them out...thats the only why i ever got propane
