The plot line kills him off, but the liner notes in the DVD set say he's still friends with Johnny Depp, so Forrest is obviously not dead. Why did he leave? I like Captain Fuller, too, but Jenko was really funny. Why did they kill him off?

According to what I read online, Frederic Forrest was not popular with the viewing audience. He was failing to click with them!
