I lived in Moscow for nearly three years and I thought it was great -- especially in the winter when you can take advantage of the great coats and furs and boots and hats. Very chic! And very expensive! But worth it!

Not long ago a famous designer said, "Russians don't have style, women just want to look clean and neat." That sums it up for me...I live in Moscow by the way... Most "Russian Style", for the rich, is the same as American or European style... Oh, and in the winter they wear a lot of black, and in the summer a lot of beige...

I am an African American and I have noticed something profound about Russians in general...but also other Slavic groups. It would seem that Russian "soul" is a slightly different version of what African Americans also called "soul" back in the 1970s particularly. This isn't to discriminate against other Non-Slavic, European groups, nor is it to belittle the cultural differences that DO exist between Russians and African Americans, it just means that Russians (in particular) are as willing as African Americans to show a non-constipated form of self sometimes playful expression. This reflects in stuff we'd call "style." And yeah, it's appealing...sometimes garish, sometimes overdone, and sometimes indimidatingly elegant...but it's always honest.

Don't like it. In business they don't keep up with the contracts, like if have set up a meeting, they won't show up in time. The police there is the worst. Can very easily bribe them, no moral in that.
Have one experience of Russian style. Was on a weekend trip with my Russian language class from my high school back in 1998. Our teacher had bought us tickets to Russian ballet show in St. Petersburg and when we arrived to the ballet theatre some Russian theatre person comes to tell our teacher we can't go see the ballet show. Teacher is trying to get us in our seats and the ballet show is about to begin. After 15 mins of talking our teacher says to me and few others "hurry up, just go to your seats before they notice anything!". I managed to get on my seat and see the good ballet show but some weren't that lucky. And even everyone had their tickets, still couldn't see the show!
So there's some Russian style for you guys...

The russian girls and women have a nice style.
The russian men are getting dressed too formal sometimes and they were very funny and strange shoes.
The russian young guys are ok but some are getting dressed like ******* of america and they think that's makes them cool.
The "hajiki" the asians of russia (georgians, armenians etc.) have the style of a grave digger.
