Yes you will. Not from picking up watermelons but from dreaming all night. Deep sleep is what refreshes us completely and this should form the bulk of your sleep time. Sleep exists to give us respite from tiredness originating from any form of activity - physical or mental.

What you are saying is if you dream about doing strenuous activity all night, will you wake up feeling tired?

You might.

But as the day goes on, and the dream fades, you should start feeling refreshed.

I say this because I sometimes have nights where I have nightmares all night long. I dream about every bad thing I can imagine happening to me. The dreams are so real that I wake up thinking "oh thank God, it was just a dream" The first part of the morning I feel like I have been through an emotional wringer, but within hours it all fades, and I am my bright-eyed and bushy tailed self.

So, my answer is dreams do indeed have impact on how well rested you feel in the morning after...until they fade.

Well, if you went to bed late and got up early, yes, you would wake up tired, even though you didn't dream long of picking those darn watermelons. If you went to bed early, well then, no, you would not wake up tired, even after all that watermelon picking in your dreams. Happy dreams to you!

It depends on how serious your are as a person. I often take my job to serious and wake up tired from dreaming that I showed up late and could not get caught up. It stems from tossing and turning in your sleep as you are walking or running in your dreams.

No, but if you dreamt about getting hit head-on by a bus, you would wake up dead. Waking up dead is a real downer so avoid dreaming about those sorts of things if you can.
