I agree. Although I hate to generalize, it seems that they somewhat believe that they are required to evangelize the rest of us non believers for fear that we might end up in hell with all the other people they condemn for not living by their self established guidelines!

Yes. That is often the case. But we need to be cautious about offering our opinions. Sometimes it is better not offer an opinion or to keep it as short and simple as possible. Remember what Jesus said in the following verse:

Matthew 7:6 (King James Version)
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

I think many of the questions I see here (in all categories) that ask for your opinion is really a forum for the asker, to express his own opinion with little regard for different opinions. Notice that the best answer is usually always on the same page as the asker's.

I take this view.... One's religion is a very private thing. Our religion is a issue which is never or should never be debatable because it is very PRIVATE. So I do not enter into debates started by others with questions like "yes, but if the Bible says this then does it not mean that... " intending only to ridicule my beliefs. I do not give a ****_ what they believe in so let me believe in what I believe how I want to believe...

It depends on what opinion it is. We who know and love GOD doesn't want to hear negative or nasty opinions about him. We cannot exist in this world with out him.

Not in all cases. My best friend is Christian and I was non-Christian. I listened to her church stories without saying a word, and she listened to me bash her God for years, without saying a word or preaching to me, unless I specifically asked her questions for my thesis. Now that I believe in the holy spirit, she shares her ideas and opinions with me. I listen to learn, and give my ideas back, as well.

So, what is your opinion on God? I will listen without judgment, I promise.
