Sure. Undoubtedly there is a menu somewhere with a switch to turn that audio off and on. Try going into control panel and checking everything that seems sound related. Then check everything related to the DVD drive. Sometimes a computer will have more than one program that controls sounds.

But you don't need to take the sound from the drive. The "line output" of your computer will give you the same sound. And you can probably find the mute and volume switches for that. Many computers have a loudspeaker icon in the taskbar that will lead you to all the volume controls.

be sure your dvd player are connected well, your sound card is working. reinstall your dvd software
