This is what I can remember about the artist and the song.
This song was released in the 1990's.
The artist was a black male. He may have had a goatee or some kind of facial hair and semi long dreds possibly.
Everytime I think of the song I think of the word "wine". Possibly part of the title or chorus.
There was a video for this song frequently played on vh1. That is how I heard it.
In the video the artist plays different roles during the video. I remember the artist playing a bum on the street and other roles.
Whoever can help me remember this song I owe them big time.
I believe the song was popular and I keep thinking the word "wine"

There was "Red, Red Wine" by UB40...and then there was one by Lenny Kravitz...but I can't remember the name of it. Shaggy also did one I can't rememer the name...but I have a feeling the song you seek is by Lenny. It's a start, anyway.
