Do you mean put into the household account? All income is put into the household account, after the deposit to savings, right?

Then each person receives their budgeted spending amount. Anything left after expenses goes to savings.

I really don't get the point of your question. If your wife is not working for a paycheck, she is working for the household. Again, everything goes to the household...you file joint returns, right? The joint filers get the tax break for number of people claimed and any children, no?

No.

We have a joint checking account. My husband takes care of all the finances and gives me a nice allowance and I don't have a problem with it at all. I don't have to worry about bills at all and he does an awesome job making sure everything is paid on time.

No... That's not a job of a wife, more like a mother and her 12-year-old son maybe. The only exception I can make is if the husband has a serious problem with gambling, drinking, or drugs and blows all his money on it.

No, my fiancee gives me his half of the bills and has a separate account. We never have any issues about money. Big purchases are split down the middle.

Yeah if he sucks with money , thats the only way id think of doing that, if he has a problem with over spending instead of paying for the bills, yeah id do that..

NO. That would be selfish and stupid. NOW, that being said. If he had some sort of spending problem, and we could come to that agreement together, that might be different.
