are you listening music when you're trying to "talk" with them?. or maybe you can try to enter the configuration menu, and see if the device that controls the sound is correct.
you can check which one is it, by going to my computer click with your right button and choose properties. then go to the hardware tab and choose the first option thats says something like device administrator. then click on the sound devices and check the name of the sound device and controller.

They don't have microphone for their computer....or you forgot to turn the volume on.... or u have muted the volume
