Ok I have at least the Y's covered in China they are Yueqin 4 stringed lute like, yangqin is their zither or dulcimer like instrument, , yunluo is a gong of different pitches. As for ones that start with the letter I that was harder but i managed a few out of the way ones, the ili ili, a double pair of smooth lava pebbles that are clicked like castanets. The ipu another hawaiin percussive instrument. A berber or north african instrument is the imzhad, a one stringed spike fiddle. Also you could say an idiophone is an intrument. Now for Q boy that wasnt easy either but here goes the Qanun like a hammered dulcimer, but you could spell it kanun so....there are Quadruple reed aerophones. OK lastly instruments that start with N... kettledrum of malaysia called the Nenggara as well as the infamous nose flute (no kidding uses your nose no problems) hope this helps

idiophone - instruments that produce their sound from the substance of the instrument itself.
irish harp
nable/nebel - ancient Jewish instrument, possibly a harp
Nagelgeige - a nail violin
nakers - small kettle drums from the medieval period
Nan-hu - another name for the erh-hu, a chinese 2-stringed bowed lute
Nao po - chinese cymbals
Quintin - 5-stringed hybred instrument, in use during the 18th century.

This is tough one...what's it in aid of? I won't continue as like some of the ones I've listed, the instrument names appear to be in their original language! I'm stumped too now!
