What the F is going on here? Did you lot never hear of the IRA or the Basque Separatists? My god I wonder what planet I'm living on some times. Don't you know that the media always need someone to hate (it sells newspapers)? Make up your own minds about every person you meet. I cannot stand this cr*p. Anyone who presumes to know a person wihtout meeting them is a BIGOT. Not all muslims are terrorists (I can't believe I have just had to write that sentence). Not all WASPS are good people. Not all catholics supported the crusades. Anyone that subscribes to a preconception is an idiot and I will gladly sponsor them for a nomination in the Darwin Awards. Doh.

PS Anyone who draws their definition of terrorism from the FBI's handbook has a problem :-)

Because it's convienient for them:

A lot of invadable countries have oil and are muslim if they can make out that they are a terrorist threat through the media then people will feel it is more justified.

as I have said before, America also likes to keep it's Jewish population happy, in America the coverage of the Isreal/Lebanon conflict has been geared very much at showing Hezbollah's violence and very little of the brutality of some of the Isreali soldiers and the widespread killings their army have made.

not all muslims are terrorists, just the ones who band together to murder, kidnap, behead, fly planes into buildings, to coerce nations governments to do their will. see the definition below:

FBI definitions of Terrorism:

There is no single, universally accepted, definition of terrorism. Terrorism is defined
in the Code of Federal Regulations as “...the unlawful use of force and violence against
persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or
any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.” (28 C.F.R.
Section 0.85)
i
FBI POLICY
AND
GUIDELINES
nnn accordance with U.S. counterterrorism
nnpolicy, the FBI considers terrorists to be criminals.
FBI efforts in countering terrorist threats are
multifaceted. Information obtained through FBI
investigations is analyzed and used to prevent
terrorist activity and, whenever possible, to effect the
arrest and prosecution of potential perpetrators.
FBI investigations are initiated in accordance with the
following guidelines:
I
The FBI further describes terrorism as either domestic or international, depending
on the origin, base, and objectives of the terrorists. For purposes of this report, the
FBI will use the following definitions:
Domestic terrorism is the unlawful use, or threatened use, of force or violence by
a group or individual based and operating entirely within the United States or its
territories without foreign direction committed against persons or property to intimidate
or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in
furtherance of political or social objectives.
International terrorism involves violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that
are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any state, or that would
be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or
any state. These acts appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population,
influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion, or affect
the conduct of a government by assassination or kidnapping. International terrorist
acts occur outside the United States or transcend national boundaries in terms of
the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to
coerce or intimidate, or the locale in which the perpetrators operate or seek asylum.

Indirectly yes ,American media need reform of their own ,if they were to stand up to truly golbalization and libelization of which the US is the main proponent.

The world have changed ,so does the American media ready to live up to the expectation of the global community and take an objective ,independant and unbias position towards many who are viewed as alien to American interest and culture?...I mean to adopt an accomodative and inclusive value ,and to those who are trying and in the process to reinvent themselves ,congratulation !for those who are still reluntant and hesitant ,make up the lost now before it is too late for a seriously misundertood US and its people ... sound intimediating ,no no,
its speaking of one mind and caring for US interest that counts and beyond ..

I am not sure they say this so directly. In today's America,a country that is slowly leaning to a more fascist form of government, one that has been losing freedom of expression, the bill of rights and the constitution have diminished in value as this administration says national security trumps our basic rights.(assembly, protest)This form of government needs a bogeyman to scare the population, that bogeyman is terrorism and an association with Muslims.

That's easy...they are terrorists. Kinda like reporting that Dogs are Dogs...not really that hard to do.

Now if they start showing peace loving Muslims shouting "Life to America"....well then I'll start worrying...because clearly that ain't happening.

They don't. I hear every day that Islam is a religion of peace and Bush loves his Muslim brethren. Another thing all I see is the Israelis being vilified.
