Bad things happen to everybody, good people are usually more sensitive and they seem to suffer more, perhaps that's why we notice bad things happening to good people.

Good Question.
I would say as a Christian. I believe God has given us all free will and the freedom to choose good and bad , right or wrong.
With that said , I would say that in doing so he has made it possible for people to cause other people harm. If he took away a consequence for actions then everyone would do anything they want..And for him to take away consequences would technically take away our ability to choose right and wrong...
Like if someone rapes or murders- a negative thing ends up happening to someone. Right? Well.. if that wasnt true and it wasnt any big deal then it wouldnt be even considered bad. Everyone would just run around consequence free and not have to answer for thier actions.
And for those situations where nobody is to blame like in a flood or a hurricane or natural death, --- I would say that its a part of life here on Earth. Just because you have a bad thing happen to you and youre good is not really "here or there". Thats just a consequence of the world we live in due to the fall of ADAM making people be able to die and suffer the ailments of life.
SOOOO Id say its not a question of good people having bad things happen to em' BUT its a reality of BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO EVERYONE.

The answer is a lot more simple than most people make it out to be.
The reason that bad things happen to good people is that bad things happen to ALL people, regardless of their behavior.
Some believe in gods or spirits or other forms of the supernatural. Whether or not such things exist is, however, irrelevent - simple observation shows us that the universe does not care about whether you are a "good" or a "bad" person. Things will happen the way they will happen, regardless of who you are.
The universe does have a thing about stupid people, though. They tend to die more than usual. Of course, that's really just because stupid people do stupid things; after all, if you play golf in a thunderstorm, you're going to get struck by lightning, regardless of how nice you are.
So, in order to *be* safe, you should *act* safe (read: think before you act), rather than hoping your personality will shield you from the wrath of nature (or other people).

Because bad things happen to everyone, not just the "good" people or the "bad" people. This is a fundamental fact of life. I think the way you handle the bad things in your life determines what type of person you are.

Bad things happen to bad people too, but society only tends to want to notice what goes on in the lives of the good people.

When it rains-who gets wet, the good or the bad? Both-right?
We live in a fallen sinful world. Sin has set things in motion that happen to everyone, good, bad or ugly. Some things we bring on ourselves-that's no one's fault but our own. But some things we have no control over. Just remember-no tears in heaven.

Simple: Because there's no reason for them not to. There is nothing which would preferentially cause bad things to happen to 'bad' people, rather than good people. The universe neither knows nor cares who is 'good' and who is 'bad'.

Bad things can happen to good people and good things can happen to bad people. You can't escape your destiny. And it's better to suffer a little while on earth than to burn forever in hell.
