Yes, of course he did! Intrestingly, I just finished watching the last movie less than an hour ago! I've also read the the books. You should probably do both if you're intrested. I love the movies!

yes frodo was tackled over the edge and golum fell into the lava with the ring then mount doom exploded and frodo and sam where saved my gandolf
