The §β´§ can AFFORD to hate the environment and get cancer....they can afford private duty nurses and can get the most sophisticated medical care and pain relief if they "do" get cancer.

Not all people view the environment in the same way. Not all groups view the environment in the same way. I believe it is fair to say that most people, and most groups, care about the environment. It is their methods to protect that environment which can be so wide apart. That apartness should not be taken for not caring.
I know few people, including conservatives, who are not concerned about pollution. On one extreme are those who want all polluting to simply end, today. At the other end there are those who want technology to take care of any polluting. As with most people, the best answer is somewhere in the middle with trial and error, testing, and working together, bringing the best to the fore.
Assuming the worse of the others with one side calling the other names will gain no one anything and only hold back solutions. Rather, it is best to keep one’s eye on the real goal. As an old American proverb says, “If you want to clear the stream get the hog out of the spring.”

Not ALL conservatives hate the environment. You should have said many or a lot of conservatives. No they don't get cancer because of it!

not all conservatives HATE the environment, but thats the LESSER thing on our minds right now. There are more greater important things than caring for some plant thats going to die.
