Oh, yes thank you...finally someone says it.
What's the point of it anyway, lets just drive around in a huge left going circle

While, I'm sure a lot of people will say no, because they use different fuel, I am going to say yes for the exact same reason. All of the different fuels out there are still produced from the same gallon of oil, the only difference being how it is refined, and what byproducts do we receive from that refining. If all vehicles all took the same kind of gas, and all gasoline distributors (Shell, Citgo, BP, Mobile) would have the gas mixed the same rather than having their own specs for it, the gas price at consumer level would drop.
But it isn't gonna happen, so we might as well save time and start riding bikes now.

Not in the slightest. Motor sports make up a fraction of the worlds oil usage. A Formula 1 race (including practice and qualifying sessions) actually uses up less oil than an average gas station sells in an average day.

I hate Nascar as much as the next guy, but check this out:
http://www.youthyack.com/content/stories/editorial/1049140418.shtml
If Nascar uses 200,000 gallons a year, lets say you multiply that times 5 to include all the other motorsports in the U.S.
So 1 million gallons a year to motorsports. Check out this link:
http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/hist/mttupus1m.htm
In May 2006 alone, 634,346,000 barels were supplied, there are roughly 42 gallons per barrel so that is 26,642,532,000 gallons. So all motorsports in the U.S. ( and I'm making a large estimate) use only .00375% of one month supply, and that is per year!
So to answer your question, no, eliminating racing would not even be a drop in the bucket.

Of course not. Anybody that owns an oil company or gas station probably promotes racing. the people producing gasline and oil want gas prices to go up, it just makes more cash for them. They don't car if we put gas in our cars or smoke it through a pvc pipe. Right now, they don't need to charge as much as they do for gas, but they can, becasue we will buy it. we buy it cause we want to drive to work. (or people who want to race will pay a premium for it!)
Racing is not what is making gas prices go up, it's the fact that no matter what tehy charge fo rit, we will buy it.

It is a big waste but it probably won't lower gas prices, just save up gas

Dragsters and funny cars run on nitromethane, not gasoline. The amount of petroleum that used by all motor sports would be an intestinal percentage of annual production in any case.
