is it weird to like stories about murders, I wrote an essay about Countess Ezrabet Bathory and my teacher took me aside and started to talk to me.. there was nothing wrong about my essay, no misspelling or anything like that, she just thought that it was nessesary for me to understand that it was unhealthy to know so much about serial killers!!!
was she right? am I crazy?

Don't worry. You sound as if you have an interesting mind.
Sorry to be teacher-ist, all you teachers out there....but most teachers are very conventional. If you can't do, teach.
Take no notice and do your own thing.
It's human nature to find murder fascinating.
If that is your ONLY interest in life, well, OK.......maybe you should get out more. But it sounds as if you're just a normal human in touch with your dark side.
Great!!

Its not weird to complete a assignment unless you become totally absorbed by it and start to maybe fantasies about what it would be like. But you gotta take a look at the bigger pic here teachers today have no control of the students they can't hit them or really even reprimand them without a possible law suit so if a teacher sees a potential problem that they might be able to circumvent with a talk early on you gotta ask yourself what is the best thing to do maybe if the Columbine kids had been talked to along the way the tragedy might not have occurred.

Yeah the post Colombine (sp?) and political correct world we live in, makes your liberally indoctrinated teacher a little touchy about these things. Now if you had written an essay about how Bush was a murderer or Israel or some other such nonsense, then she would have pulleed you aside to praise your 'enlightened' thinking.
Finding those stories interesting does not make you strange or crazy, it makes you human. Now if you start doing... that is another story entirely. ;)

Nothing wrong with knowing about history. Would you be a kook if you liked Benjamin Franklin? Tell your teacher to take her narrow minded blinders off and appreciate the fact that you have diverse tastes.
Nowadays, serial killers get front page coverage. Hard to see why anybody would be interested in decent people like, ohhhh, teachers, for example. :)

No. There's not a problem unless you start trying to be like one of the serial killers. She should be more open minded, as long as the essay was appropriate and wasn't for something like, write about the people you most admire.

I can't say if you are crazy, but is this just interesting for u? You don't get get aroused or anxious when you read and or write about these things, do you.If u do then you may have issues.
If this is just an interest and you have no feelings of actually doing this or seeing it done ( u must be honest with yourself) then it's just an interest . Talk to a professional if u are not sure.

No, you are not crazy. If it was weird for someone to be interested in murders and serial killers, there wouldn't be such a big market for books and movies based on them.

Just because you're fascinated by this does not make u sick or violent. The teacher was probably just concerned. However she should grade your work on its merit. Who knows...maybe your fascination will end up in a career in criminal psychology or forensics...even as an author.

I don't think there is anything wrong with knowing a lot about serial killers, it's when you start displaying behaviour similar to theirs that you should be worried.

There is nothing wrong with knowledge. As long as you do not let it change you for worse. Maybe she thought you got a lil too into it. Then again, teachers are notorious for misinterpretations.
