I think that it's a combination of both pyhsical and psychological sensitivities. We're normally ticklish in the areas that are touched the least. It might be psychological on the level of someone tickling you that you're fearful or uncomfortable around. However, I think it's mostly physical.

I think that being ticklish has something to do with the amount of nerve endings and how responsive they are. This has to differ from person to person because some people take pain better and some people are more sensitive.

Of course not... Your body has certain sensitive places and they respond to it by being ticklish. Some guys will think it is sweet. My son is 18 and he is still ticklish but I'm the only one that knows. If someone tries to tickle him he will bust a gutt before laughing..If it tickles then laugh.Don't let anyone stop you from your emotions..They are yours and everyone has them....

Yes and no. It is possible to mentally prepare yourself for tickling and not be affected by it. However, it is also true that someone who is numb in a ticklish area will not be affected.

I've heard it was but I've met newborns that weren't ticklish and people in their 40's that preferred they not be touched because they were -horribly- ticklish.
