it does make a little noise, but it's not that loud. Once you get into the game, it's like the noise of the ps2 is not there anymore. you should listen to the xbox 360, makes even more noise, but the noise of the console goes away when you get into the game, jus like the ps2.

Not complicated, have it clean at any specialised shop in games. Cost 10 bucks, takes 5 days, and it's as good as new.

You probably have a dirty fan. Just run it awhile, and it should clear up itself. Make sure it's kept in a cool dry area - dust in humid areas will clog the fan. Otherwise, it'll have to be taken apart to have it cleaned.
