My car has a problem. I am not very saavy when it comes to cars. My Legacy is idling really low. When in reverse she shakes. Literally the whole car is overcome with this shaking. The acceleration is pretty bad. its even worse when the A/C, Defogger, or heat is on. Occassionally she seems to run fine. Most of the time she doesn't. From what I guess, is it my spark plugs? They were changed about a year ago. The car also had a new radiator put in, and had a tune-up about a year ago also.

Thanks for any answers.

Sounds like the fuel filter needs to be replaced. I've had my 95 for several years and only put filters and fluids in, replaced the timing belt, and cleaned off the plugs. After replacing the wheel bearings of course. It has 205 K on it now and I expect to put on another 100. Your car should require little maintenance and probably has a very small problem. Try that filter first, then check vaccum lines for dry-rot. If you continue to wits' end, take it to a Subaru dealership and they should help. Good luck, don't give up on this one.

Cheep tsets that might do the trick.

Try some fuel injector cleaner for your gas tank, if you have any possitive results ... replace your fuel filter.

Also a new air filter couln't hurt.

Do not add oil ... if you get your oil changed at one of those quick lube places, make sure you get the high miles grade.
