A Ford Focus is a lot of fun to drive. I have one and I just love it. Also, there are Driver's Ed schools that use them because they are are easy to drive. Even thought it isn't considered a Sport's Car, you will still look cool in one.

Teenagers should not drive sports cars. They are tempted to drive faster than they already do just to show off the car and then they are more likely to get in an accident. Not to mention the insurance to cover a teen driving a sports car or even a 2 door car is outragous!!!

A sports car isn't good for a teenager--your insurance premiums at 16 will skyrocket if you get something like an Eclipse or a Camaro, and I'm sure your parents wouldn't be happy with it if they're the ones paying your insurance.

My advice is a Honda Civic. Very reliable car, small like you want, reasonably safe and is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. If cost is a concern, the Hyundai Accent is a good alternative.

Really no sports car is goot for a teenager because it will cost a fortune to insure, but if you must have one and are looking for something safe yet fun go with a volkswagen. Any model would be nice, but a word of advice get a used car because if you're not an experienced driver things are going to happen. Unless of course you already know how to drive and now you can drive legally.

Like others have said, the insurance cost will kill you if you get a sports car at 16. You might be the safest driver in the world but an insurance company only sees you as a 16 year old, inexperienced driver.

I would recommend a Honda Civic coupe - reliable, handles well, decent power - enough to feel sporty yet not enough to get you into too much trouble, and looks good. You can even get a manual transmission if you want to add to the sportyness.

As someone who wanted a sports car since I was younger than you and still like them, I'm not sure if any sports car is good for a teenager. I think something reliable and doesn't have too much power, but is still fun like a Miata might be a acceptable.

Definitely buy your teenager a car. The day AFTER graduating high school with a decent GPA.

Go to NYC and find a used Checker Marathon until you learn how to drive in 5 or 10 years.

None.....teenagers deserve Geo Metros, Geo Storm, Chevy Caliver, Pontiac Sunfire, Dodge Stratus, Toyota Collora.........

Sports cars are for ADULTS who can pay for them and take the responsibility which comes with a serious machine.

Ford Mustang!!! any year model!

I drive a 2001 Silver Ford Mustang, and it treats me great. I've never had any problems with it and it's very easy to maintain. It's been in my family for over 5 years now and it has always run smoothly and looks great. Your friends will love it and so will you!
