By dragon, I mean a fully-grown, winged, fire-breathing lizard about the size of a three-bedroom house. Use any units you like: calories, grams, pounds or people. How much does a creature like this need to eat to stay healthy and active?

Dragons are reptiles, and are able to go long periods without eating anything. They would probably have trouble with anything over 25% of their body weight. After eating they are docile for a time as it takes much of their energy to digest food.
Dragons also collect shiny things, and are known to have considerable stashes of gold.
If you feed a dragon a virgin, it will fall asleep, then you can steal it's gold.

He likes a football team for breakfast
For lunch he likes to jump into Japan and get some of the wrestlers.
For snack he goes to a Weight Watchers meeting and see who showed up for his snack buffet.
For dinner he really needs to have a good fill before going to sleep
so he goes back to the a Manson concert and eats till he is stuffed.
Voila, that is about it.
He is not a very fussy eater.

The story goes that they needed at least one knight per week, and then used the knights' lances for toothpicks. Of course, when they hibernated on top of their treasures, they didn't need as many. Some stories seem to hint that the dragons didn't really care for the horses that the knights rode.

I'm guessing..maybe...maybe he should eat something like 20 adults per day.
BUT...if it's a female dragon, she should eat 12 to 15; to maintain her girlish figure!
